Work Environment
Our commercial electricians work in office buildings, stores, and other commercial spaces in all points in the building process from construction to completion. Whether the space is a retail store, a restaurant, multifamily housing, or an office building, commercial electricians install electrical wiring, hook up power outlets, and install lighting solutions. They check and double check their work so that they meet strict code and to ensure that all of the electrical system operates in the right way. Sometimes, commercial electricians work outside the building as well to provide additional services to the client.
Duties
Common duties of commercial electricians include but are not limited to:
- Acquire knowledge of local area commercial electrical codes. It’s important for electricians to keep educated on the most up-to-date rules and methods so that they provide the best service to their clients.
- Understanding state and local regulations on electrical safety at commercial locations. Following the law keeps our electricians and our clients safe and is a fundamental part of the job.
- Read and comprehend technical plans. Following the plans means better quality service for our clients—and keeps us on track to complete their required tasks.
- Diagnose issues in the clients’ electrical systems using their knowledge base and experience, as well as top-of-the-line equipment, in order to provide top-notch service.
- Using tools to install and repair electrical components. The right tools and materials make all the difference in doing a great job for our clients.
- Installing, repairing, or replacing electrical resources like power outlets, lighting rigs, and electrical boxes. Whether it is replacing one outlet or rewiring a whole building, our commercial electricians will leave your electrical system looking as good as new.
- Mentor junior electricians as they complete their training to become the new generation of electrical professionals across the Commonwealth.
